This Privacy Policy explains how Techmaster Consulting LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles information in connection with the Agent Trace website, desktop application, licensing services, hosted checkout return pages, support communications, and related commercial services.
By using Agent Trace or related services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Local-First Product Design
Agent Trace is designed as a local-first desktop application. Logs, traces, imported run data, and analysis content are intended to remain on your device unless you choose to share them with us, such as in a support request.
We do not collect or store the contents of your logs, traces, or analysis reports as part of ordinary product use.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We may collect information you voluntarily provide, including:
- email address;
- support requests and related communications;
- feedback, bug reports, and product inquiries;
- billing or license-support information you submit to us.
2.2 Billing and Transaction Information
Paid purchases are processed through Paddle, which may act as the Merchant of Record and/or authorized reseller for the transaction.
When you make a purchase, Paddle may collect and process billing, payment, tax, and checkout-related information directly. We may receive limited billing-related data needed to operate the service, such as:
- name and email address;
- transaction, subscription, and customer identifiers;
- purchase status, billing cycle, plan, and renewal status;
- limited payment and receipt metadata relevant to licensing and support.
We do not store full payment card details.
2.3 License, Device, and Technical Information
We collect and store limited licensing and technical information needed to activate, validate, and manage Agent Trace, including:
- hashed device identifiers;
- license status, entitlement records, and activation records;
- software version, platform, and distribution channel;
- plan type, billing cycle, feature access, and verification timing;
- limited fraud-prevention and audit metadata related to licensing events.
License keys are not stored in raw form. We store only a secure hash of the license key.
2.4 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect or upload the ordinary contents of:
- logs or trace files analyzed locally;
- AI-generated analysis output created on your device;
- local files or unrelated system data;
- raw device identifiers where a hashed form is sufficient.
3. How We Use Information
We use information we control to:
- provide and maintain Agent Trace and related services;
- deliver license keys and validate active entitlements;
- enforce device limits, prevent abuse, and detect fraud;
- process billing-related status received from Paddle;
- provide customer support and respond to requests;
- improve product reliability, operational security, and service quality;
- comply with legal, accounting, tax, and recordkeeping obligations.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on the following as applicable:
- performance of a contract, including licensing, subscription, activation, and support obligations;
- legitimate interests, including protecting our systems, enforcing license terms, preventing fraud, and improving the service;
- consent, where you voluntarily provide information or request support;
- compliance with legal obligations.
5. Third-Party Services and Controllers
5.1 Paddle
Paddle handles checkout, payment processing, applicable taxes, receipts, and certain subscription-management functions. Paddle may act as an independent controller for billing and payment information it collects directly.
Your use of Paddle checkout and related payment services may also be subject to Paddle's own privacy policy, buyer terms, and applicable commercial policies.
5.2 Other Service Providers
We may use service providers for infrastructure, license delivery, transactional email delivery, update delivery, and operational support. These providers are given only the level of access reasonably necessary for their role.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal and licensing-related information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- maintain active licenses and subscriptions;
- support renewals, cancellations, disputes, and fraud review;
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, and audit obligations;
- resolve support issues and enforce our agreements.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of record and the legal or operational reason for keeping it.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect the limited data we process. These measures may include hashing, restricted access, service-level controls, and audit records for billing and licensing events.
No system can guarantee absolute security, and you remain responsible for protecting local data stored on your own devices.
8. International Data Transfers
If you use Agent Trace from outside the United States, information we control may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data we control, and the right to object to certain processing or request portability where applicable.
California residents may also have rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
10. Scope of Requests
Your privacy requests apply to personal data that Techmaster Consulting LLC controls. They do not automatically apply to data controlled directly by Paddle or another third-party provider acting as its own controller. For billing or payment records held directly by Paddle, you may need to contact Paddle separately.
11. Children's Privacy
Agent Trace is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted with a revised "Last Updated" date.
